Spring has sprung in the Speech Room
We made it through a long winter and are now ready for some outside time and flowers. I have once again chosen some fun books to read and talk about with your children. As always, they are beautifully illustrated and help target many of the objectives that the students are working on.
The Napping House by: Audrey Wood
The Little Mouse, The Red Ripe Strawberry and The Big Hungry Bear by: Audrey Wood
It’s Not Easy Being A Bunny by: Marilyn Sadler
All of these stories can be used to address the following objectives:
- Sequencing
- Synonyms- (i.e.,all the different words for sleeping)
- Vocabulary
- Questions responding
- Predicting
- Story Grammar
Highlighted game for the month is Headbanz. This game is great for having children formulate questions, listen, categorize, follow directions, and take turns.
Enjoy the warmer weather and get outside with your children as much as possible. Explore all that nature has to offer. You are your child’s first and best teacher.
Thanks for all you do,
Noreen Little, SLP
