Hello, my name is Mrs. Dudas and I am the nurse at Franklin Avenue 
Elementary School.  I am a full time nurse and I provide the following
health services:

.        Monitoring compliance with state immunization guidelines

.        Identification and prevention of the spread of disease

.        Administration of medication

.        Annual vision and hearing screenings in grades K-4

.        First aid assessment and treatment

.        Injury and illness assessment

.        Referral/counseling/guidance

.        Promotion of healthy lifestyle choices

Child has a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher.  Child should be fever free for 24 hours before returning to school and not taking any fever reducing medications.  

Diarrhea OR vomiting in the previous 24 hours.

Bad cold or flu when there is excessive nose drainage or constant coughing.

Rash that could be contagious; please have any rashes checked by your pediatrician.  Child cannot return to school without an MD clearance note of skin diagnosis.  

If child is diagnosed with strep throat, impetigo or pink eye students must stay home from school until they have received antibiotics for at least 24 hours.
