Welcome to the 2015 - 2016 School Year
Hello everyone!
Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Melissa Letourneau and I have been assigned as the math coach for Franklin Avenue and Highland Schools. I am just joining Westfield, coming off of a maternity leave with my third child, Julian, who was born in August.
For the past 11 years I have worked for Springfield Public Schools. I spent the first three years as a 4th grade teacher at Lincoln School. I spent the second three years teaching solely math in a departmentalized 4th and 5th grade setting at Lincoln School. The last 5 years I was a math coach, working at Gerena School and again at Lincoln School.
As a coach, I have worked with grades K-5 providing support and professional development in developing math content knowledge, unpacking the new MA math standards, implementing the math workshop model, and best practices in math instruction.
